Getting around
The Metro is air-conditioned, clean and goes nearly everywhere a day out needs, so in Delhi you can plan without a car. South Delhi to the centre is about twenty minutes by train; by road at six in the evening it is much longer. Meeting her by a Metro station on your line is the simplest start.

October to March is the good season: mild days, outdoor afternoons and a full calendar of weddings and family gatherings. Diwali, in October or November, is the biggest of them, and the week everyone goes home.
