Real life, in Jakarta

Rent a girlfriend in Jakarta for a day

Looking to rent a girlfriend in Jakarta? Rent Girlfriend books a verified woman in Indonesia for one full day in real life — a family lunch, a holiday visit, a day exploring the city — strictly platonic, with the plan agreed in writing before you meet.

Where to meet in Jakarta

  • Menteng
  • Senopati
  • Kemang
  • the SCBD

How the day runs

In Jakarta the commute writes the timetable. The main roads are jammed until well after the end of the working day, so evening plans start nearer eight than seven, and nobody is ever early. Malls are where the city meets: the cafés inside them are cool, central and open late, and Senopati and Kemang carry on after the malls shut. On Fridays offices thin out in the early afternoon for prayers and the roads out of town fill up.

Getting around

The MRT, from Lebak Bulus in the south to Bundaran HI in the centre, is the one leg of any trip whose length you can predict. TransJakarta buses run in their own lanes and reach much more of the city. For short distances an ojek — a motorbike taxi booked in an app — is far quicker than a car and is how most people get about. On weekdays odd-even number-plate rules on Sudirman and Thamrin quietly rule out some journeys by car.

When Jakarta is busiest

From November to April the rains come, with afternoon storms heavy enough to flood low streets and freeze traffic for hours. May to October is drier and much easier to plan. Each Sunday morning Sudirman and Thamrin close to cars for Car Free Day and fill with walkers and cyclists. During Ramadan the day turns around the evening meal, and in the Lebaran week a large share of the city goes home to family — the week family visits are planned around.

Questions about Jakarta

Is a mall a sensible place to meet her?

Yes, and nobody will think it dull. With hard pavements and steady heat, malls are where Jakarta put its public space. Menteng and Senopati have street cafés too, but an atrium is the easiest place for two people to find each other.

I am going home for Lebaran. When should I ask?

As early as you can. It is the week the whole city travels to family, so roads and trains are full and plans need more time. Say which day of the visit you need and allow for the journey out of Jakarta.

Can the MRT take us around for the day?

Along its single north-south line it is the fastest way — Blok M, Senayan and Bundaran HI are all on it. Anywhere else still needs a car or an ojek, so plan the day near the line if you can.

Strictly platonic, and written down

Every rental is one day, planned with you and agreed in writing before you meet. Nothing romantic or physical is part of it, and either of you can end the day.
